The Historic Nelson Ranch
The Historic Nelson Ranch is located in the heart of
Woodland's agricultural area. It is a harmonious estate with
a historic park like setting. The original Yolo County ranch
house was built in 1868 and the property is on the National
Register of Historic Places.
The property has a rich Yolo county history with the original
owner having over 3,000 acres of land. This land was
donated to UC Davis and once included Nelson's Grove,
Best Ranch and other famous Yolo County Landmarks.

Today the ranch is once again a cattle ranch. The Yolo County Fair held its livestock show at the location in
2006, while their facility was being upgraded. Clinicians from around the world have been here. Including
world champion's Les Vogt, Mike Beers, Rick Rersacchi, Walt Woodard & Lise Von Uhlit.
